About Nick Groom

 

Nick has been renovating property for over twenty years and has worked on most styles and ages of property. He is passionate about building design and is a skilled draughtsman and technician. Nick also has general building experience which is a great asset for designing and planning buildings.

Before moving to Monmouth in 2007, Nick developed and built a variety of styles of property for a number of clients in Bath, Somerset and Dorset. His building projects include two thatched Potton Houses near Exeter, renovating and extending a number of listed town and country properties in Bath and North East Somerset, renovating a derelict village inn and achieving planning permission for a number of new and period properties.

His work in Monmouthshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire includes a number of extensive renovations including a large farmhouse; a modern bungalow; a derelict listed town house; barn conversions; a large farmhouse renovation as well as a range of contemporary new extensions to both old and new properties. Nick has many satisfied clients who appreciate his commitment to keeping within budget whilst achieving and exceeding their expectations.

 

Nick lives in Monmouth with his partner Liz (website designer Elizabeth Walsh) and family. On leaving university, with a degree in International Marketing, Nick worked in the steel industry in the UK and France. He speaks fluent French and returns to visit family and friends in France as often as possible. Nick and Liz enjoy sailing, travelling, theatre and days out with their children. Nick has been known to tile a wonky wall to absolute perfection and he cooks a mean curry!
